			Short error help file
			=====================

My config file wont work / wont load aviation.tcl
How do I start the bot / how do I create a config file
======================================================
1. COMPILE EGGDROP
2. UNTAR THE AVIATION PACKAGE IN THE EGGDROP DIR
3. TYPE ./setup
   and follow the instructions for creating a config file.
   The config file is called 'conf'.

Is there a backdoor in Aviation? I heard there is a default login!
==================================================================
There is no such thing. However, the default config file uses
a startup login which is:
l: botowner
p: aviation
If you use that userfile, you can only log in as 'botowner' and
then you need to change that handle to your own.

I get exactly this error:
=========================
./conf: proc: command not found
./conf: global: command not found
./conf: syntax error near unexpected token `}'
./conf: aviation.tcl: line 41: `if {![info exists wwwlocked]} { exec rm
-rf $homedir/public_html 1>/dev/null 2>/dev/null & }'./conf: proc: command
not found

That is an error with the setup script. Edit your conf file and insert
this as the first line:
#!/home/scriptkid/eggdrop1.3.22/eggy

(Providing your eggdrop path is '/home/scriptkid/eggdrop1.3.22/'
 and you renamed your eggdrop executable to 'eggy' by typing
 './setup eggy'.)

Why shouldnt I rename my config file?
=====================================
Because of a new feature called "spawn" which adds a line
to 'conf' that starts other bots. If you want to rename your config
file, check the tcl and change the name...

Static Eggdrop:
===============
Something important: especially people who liked 1.1.5 will like
this. You can ALWAYS use 'make static' to compile, which is needed
if your tcl is statically compiled (.a tcl lib extensions instead of .so).
That way, you dont have to worry about modules if you dont like
them as many people who stick to 1.1.5 do.

			ERRORS
			======

Error: TCL Errors
Cause: Eggdrop needs tcl8 libraries. Get and compile them.
Solution: Get TCL and install:

ftp ftp.scriptics.com
cd /pub/tcl/tcl8_1
get tcl8.1a2.tar.gz
quit
gzip -cd tcl8.1a2.tar.gz | tar x
rm -f tcl*tar*
cd tcl*/unix
./configure
make
You will get tcl.h and libtcl.a, after that:
mv ../generic/tcl.h $HOME
mv libtcl.a $HOME

Then retry to compile with: make static (in your eggdrop dir).

Error: While configuration 'I CANT FIND ANSI C HEADER FILES'
Cause: You have an obsolete compiler
Solution: Get a new compiler :)

Error: Crappy UNIX OS, compiling errors
Solution: Try compiling as static (make static) and remove all
          loadmodule entries like this:
          cat aviation.tcl | grep -v loadmodule > tmp1
          cat tmp1 | grep -v checkmodule > aviation.tcl
          rm -f tmp1

Error: After compiling, configuration errors
Cause(1): You are not using the avi.conf style config file, but
          eggdrop.conf.dist to run start the bot.
Solution(1): Run ./setup and use avi.conf
Cause(2): You used more than 1 channels or listening ports, but forgot to
          put it in "quotes"
Solution(2): Replace these entries:
set allport 1234 5678 9012
...
set botchan #bla #bleh
...
With these:
set allport "1234 5678 9012"
...
set botchans "#bla #bleh"
...
OR JUST USE ./setup DAMNIT ;d

Error: At startup, ERRORS IN THE TCL AFTER LOADING
Cause: modules couldnt be found
Solution: modules MUST be in ./ !!! Make sure NOT to
          put them anywhere else like modules/
Cause 2: userfile couldnt be found
Solution 2: mv userfile userfile.<yourbotnick>

Error: After startup, bot crashes unintentionally
Cause: some kind of bug in eggdrop, that crashes when
       completing the first entry in the userfile
Solution: get a complete 1.3.x userfile and modify it, so
          you have one owner with a known password.
          Or use the userfile included in this package.

Error: Looks like a tcl script error in "set home [exec pwd]"
       or an error because no variable system defined
Cause: Your shells signals are trapped.
Solution: SIGH, you have to filter out the exec entries:
echo "set system \"UNIX\"" > tmp
echo "set homedir \"./\"">tmp
cat aviation.tcl | grep -v "exec sh" >>tmp
mv -f tmp aviation.tcl
